When is it worth using veneers?

Veneers are thin, ceramic or composite overlays that are placed on the front surface of the teeth to improve their appearance. This is an ideal solution for people who want to quickly and effectively improve their smile. Veneers look very natural, are highly durable, which makes them an extremely popular choice in aesthetic dentistry.

Here are the cases in which it is recommended to apply veneers:

Ceramic veneers delight with their natural appearance. Made of high-quality ceramic, they perfectly imitate the natural enamel of teeth. Their exceptional durability and resistance to discoloration make them an ideal choice for people who want a long-lasting, elegant effect.

Composite veneers are a practical and effective solution. Made of composite, they can be easily adapted to the patient's needs during one visit. Their affordable price and satisfactory aesthetic effect make them very popular among patients who want to quickly improve the appearance of their teeth.

Porcelain veneers represent the highest quality. Porcelain provides an extremely natural look and is exceptionally resistant to discoloration. They provide a long-lasting, dazzling effect, meeting the expectations of the most demanding patients. Thanks to them, you can get a perfect, radiant smile.

How is the application of veneers at the Adenta clinic in Opole
Applying veneers at the Adenta clinic is a multi-stage process that ensures excellent results. Here is how it works step by step:

  1. First visit and assessment - we start with a comprehensive diagnosis of the oral cavity, including X-ray analysis and taking photos and a 3D scan. This allows for accurate planning of the procedure and choosing the best solutions for the patient.
  2. Tooth preparation - if necessary, we carry out hygienization and conservative treatment tailored to the patient.
  3. Taking an impression - the dentist and the patient jointly choose the color of the veneers that best matches the natural shade of the teeth. Then the specialist performs tooth grinding and takes an impression, which will be sent to the laboratory.
  4. Temporary veneers - while the proper veneers are being prepared in the dental laboratory, the patient receives temporary veneers that protect the teeth and maintain aesthetics.
  5. Placing the veneers – we check the shape and color of the veneers, and then glue them to the surface of the teeth with a special cement. After application, the veneers are illuminated with a special lamp.
  6. Final stage – finally, the veneers are polished and adjusted in the bite. To protect the new veneers, the patient may receive a retention splint for the night, which protects the veneers during sleep.
  7. Check-up visit – after a few days, we encourage you to have a check-up so that we can assess how the veneers look and whether there is no need to make minor corrections.

How to prepare for the application of veneers?

Before starting the procedure, all dental problems, such as caries or gum disease, should be treated. If we want the process of applying veneers to proceed correctly, we also recommend removing tartar and bacterial plaque. In addition, before the procedure itself, you should pay special attention to daily oral care – brushing your teeth, flossing and rinsing with an antibacterial fluid.

Contraindications for the application of veneers

Are you planning to get veneers? We encourage you to visit the Adenta clinic to accurately assess the state of your oral health. Here are the contraindications that must be eliminated before the procedure:

  • active caries – veneers should not be applied to teeth affected by caries, as this may lead to further damage;
  • gum disease – untreated gum disease, such as gingivitis or periodontitis, can make it difficult to properly apply veneers;
  • teeth grinding – bruxism can lead to damage to veneers. Therefore, if you have a problem with teeth grinding, we will take a closer look at it;
  • insufficient amount of enamel – teeth should contain a sufficient amount of enamel to properly attach veneers to it;
  • serious malocclusion – in the case of serious malocclusion, veneers may not necessarily be appropriate, so orthodontic correction is recommended first.
