Orthodontic treatment Opole

We treat with:

  • Removable appliances,
  • Fixed appliances,
  • Invisalign clear aligners.

Why is it worth deciding on orthodontic treatment?

  • Straight teeth will improve your well-being and make it easier to build relationships.
  • They will facilitate hygiene and prevent tooth decay and pathological abrasion, as well as periodontal diseases.

Stages of orthodontic treatment

  1. Diagnostics – examination, interview, making models (3D scan), X-ray images and bite photographs.
  2. Treatment plan – discussion with the patient of the proposed treatment method, selection of the appliance, discussion of the treatment costs.
  3. Placement of the orthodontic appliance – in the case of a fixed appliance, it consists in gluing small brackets to the teeth, and then connecting them with an archwire. After placement, an instruction on how to handle the appliance (eating, hygiene, possible failures) is given. If it is a removable appliance, the orthodontist gives the patient the appliance prepared by the technician and instructs the child's parents on how to use it. Invisalign aligners require the installation of tiny, invisible attachments on some teeth and instructions for use.
  4. Appliance check-up – these are regular check-up visits to observe the progress of treatment - appropriate activation of the appliance (both fixed and removable). Check-up visits for fixed appliances are recommended every 4-6 weeks. In the case of removable appliances, every 2 months, and aligners - every 2-3 months.
  5. Appliance removal - removal of a fixed appliance consists in removing brackets and bands, attachments in the case of Invisalign aligners, cleaning the teeth of glue, protecting against caries and taking final photographic documentation.
  6. Placement of retention - most often it involves bonding a thin wire to the lingual surfaces of the front teeth and making a removable retention plate by a technician. From that moment on, they will be responsible for maintaining the treatment results.
  7. Maintenance of treatment effects - periodic check-up visits with retention.

Orthodontic treatment for children

First visit to the orthodontist

You can come for the first visit with any, even the smallest child, to make sure that the bite is developing correctly. When a child has any abnormalities, the doctor will recommend a procedure to eliminate them. Check-up visits with a small child are usually recommended every few months.

Orthodontic treatment for children

Disturbing symptoms!

When you should take your child to an orthodontist:

  • when the child breathes through the mouth instead of the nose,
  • has a constantly open mouth and closes it with difficulty,
  • when they have a speech impediment,
  • when the upper front teeth protrude,
  • when the lower teeth are in front of the upper ones, the lower ones are more protruded,
  • when the teeth are very crowded, overlap each other or, on the contrary, there are large gaps between the teeth,
  • when the child has habits that are difficult to stop, such as compulsive thumb sucking, biting crayons.

Orthodontic treatment for teenagers

For teenagers, straight teeth and a healthy, beautiful smile are very important. This is the best time to start orthodontic treatment. Everyone will find an appliance that suits their needs and possibilities.

Orthodontic treatment for adults

You can take care of your beautiful smile at any time, age does not matter.

Orthodontic treatment for adults

Reasons why you should visit us:

  • gaps in the dentition caused by caries,
  • bruxism - teeth grinding,
  • crooked teeth, crowded teeth or gaps between teeth,
  • disproportion between the jaws,
  • headaches, pain in the temporomandibular joints, which may be caused by malocclusion or missing teeth.

Types of appliances:

Removable appliance

is recommended for children, especially during the period of transition from deciduous to permanent teeth and as a preliminary treatment before treatment with fixed appliances. A removable appliance is made individually for each patient, and its type is selected according to the type of defect.

Fixed appliances

are recommended for all patients with permanent dentition - both children and adults. A fixed appliance consists of bands and orthodontic brackets, glued to the teeth, orthodontic wires and additional elements such as rubber ligatures, metal ligatures, springs, protective tubes, elastic chains and others.

Fixed orthodontic appliance

The brackets can be made of metal or, slightly more expensive, of porcelain or sapphire. Such appliances are called cosmetic or aesthetic because they are less visible.

Additional fixed appliances

are used in cases where a fixed appliance is not able to correct the defect on its own. These include: palatal arches, pendulum appliances, quad helix appliances, Nance palatal buttons, rapid maxillary expansion appliances, e.g. Hyrax. In addition, in some cases, mini implants, so-called microscrews, are used.
